How ProcureAbility Listens to the Pain Points of Procurement

Listening to the pain points of procurement teams is vital to help teams overcome them, according to Carlos Perico, Senior Director at ProcureAbility.

ProcureAbility is dedicated solely to procurement. As a procurement first and services model second organisation, it collaborates with businesses by co-creating the right solution for them.

Its goal is to be the one-stop-shop solution to address procurement challenges. By offering a wide range of services including advisory, managed services, digital solutions, market intelligence, staffing and recruiting.

As a Jabil company and a leader in procurement services for over 25 years, it helps organisations transform their procurement functions to become more strategic and cost-effective. With its use of advanced methodologies, analytics, AI-driven market intelligence and industry benchmarks to deliver flexible, customised solutions and actionable results that enhance procurement operations.

Carlos joined the team two years ago having known the company’s President, Darshan Deshmukh and CEO, Conrad Snover, from past professional experiences. He has spoken on the biggest challenges facing procurement teams and how he and his team are helping organisations to beat them.

What challenges are you seeing when it comes to procurement?

When it comes to procurement, I see two key challenges beyond the well-known issue of procurement evolving into a strategic business function.

First, there’s the challenge of talent development and availability. Advanced technologies require elevated procurement talent, but tight talent pools make it hard to find and retain professionals.

Second is risk management, involving handling supply chain and third-party risks. As supply chains grow more complex, robust risk management is necessary for operational resilience and integrity.

How will you help procurement teams overcome these challenges?

First, we listen-really listen to the pain points of procurement teams. Often identifying the root challenge versus symptoms of the problem allows us to be incredibly efficient and effective in solving complex issues for our clients and adding value from day one.

ProcureAbility focuses on growing our team’s expertise through continuous learning and exposure to diverse procurement environments, bringing best practices to our clients.

We offer strategic training in Category Management, Negotiations and Contracts Management. For risk management, we partner with our clients to review data, improve supply chain visibility and identify and mitigate risks appropriately.

What does your role entail? / What does a typical working day look like for you?

My role involves providing strategic direction and oversight to our Advisory and Managed Services teams, driving procurement transformation for our clients. I also focus on expanding our India Delivery location and continuing to integrate our firm into the Jabil family.

What are your goals, personal and/or professional, for the next 12 months?

In the next 12 months, my professional goals are to drive a culture of high-quality service, oversee large engagements and develop delivery teams in India, Latin America and Europe to nurture new leaders.

Additionally, I want to protect and strengthen our firm’s supportive, inclusive and diverse culture as we expand, ensuring it remains an excellent place for career growth. Personally, I plan to spend more time with my family, especially supporting my two daughters in their dance lessons and competitions.
